posture, exploration by looking at various bodies and what assists would be
appropriate, together with a practicum session.
These Workshops are intended for teachers but are also appropriate for students
wishing to deepen their understanding of asana, or preparing for teacher training.

Vinyasa Krama:
Basic Principles of Intention & Sequencing

The effectiveness of any yoga class is rooted in the strength of the sequence being
taught, and it’s method of execution. In this two part series we will explore
ways to work with sequencing in class, important principles of sequencing and
how to make the most effective verbal delivery of your sequence. Each
participant will have the opportunity to present a short sequence and receive
constructive feedback.
Monday May 24, 11:30-1:30

Music and Message:
Teaching Through Music

The soundtrack of a movie makes or breaks a movie in subliminal ways that we
are often not even aware. Yoga asana is intimately connected with the yoga of
sound. In the ancient texts, the purpose of asana is to clear the nadis (streams of
consciousness) in order to hear the cosmic sound (OM). To work with sound in
our practices and teaching creates a depth of experience in the classroom that
allows
lessons to penetrate in a powerful way. In this workshop we will explore some
of the fundamental principles of yoga and sound; the importance of sound in the
classroom and creating effective classroom experiences using sound. Vinyasa
Krama is a strongly encouraged prerequisite to this class.
